Setup and your career stage
Four quick steps tell NextMilestone where you are and what you want, so your plan starts in the right place. Every step can be skipped.
The four steps
Step 1: Your career stage
Student, Early career, Experienced or Leader. It sets what NextMilestone puts first.
Step 2: Your goals
Pick as many as fit, like landing an internship or preparing for interviews, or add your own.
Step 3: What you're aiming for
A target role and the places you'd work, with US metros and Remote (US) to choose from. You can also import a resume to fill in your profile.
Step 4: Your weekly rhythm
How much focus time you want each week, and which days are rest days.
Tip
What your stage changes
| Stage | Who it's for | What comes first |
|---|---|---|
| Student | Still studying | Lessons and projects for your portfolio |
| Early career | 0 to 3 years | Applications, tailored resumes and practice |
| Experienced | 3 to 10 years | Closing skill gaps and interview exercises |
| Leader | 10+ years | Leadership stories and protected deep work |
Your stage also picks the daily quests you see in Climb. Everyone has the same features, whatever the stage.
Changing it later
Open Settings → Account to change your stage and goals at any time. Your plan uses the new answers from the next morning.
